IONOS vs Galaxy Cloud Solutions: An Honest Comparison (2026)
IONOS doesn't get talked about nearly as much as DigitalOcean or Vultr, but they probably should. VPSBenchmarks ranked them #1 in the under-$15 VPS category for 2026, which is a serious result from a serious benchmarking site. They're a large German provider with US data centers, and their entry pricing starts at $2/month — cheaper than us. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. Here's the honest breakdown.

| Specs | IONOS | Galaxy Cloud Solutions | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 vCPU / 1GB / 10GB SSD | $2/mo | $5/mo (1 vCPU/1GB/20GB) | IONOS wins on entry price |

| 8 vCPU / 16GB / 320GB SSD | $28/mo | $65/mo | IONOS cheaper at high tier |
I'll be straight with you: IONOS is cheaper than Galaxy Cloud Solutions across most plan tiers. If price is your only criteria, you should probably go look at them. But there are reasons we exist, and I'll get to those.
Where IONOS Genuinely Wins
- Price — lower cost across most plan tiers, especially entry level
- Performance per dollar — ranked #1 under $15 by VPSBenchmarks in 2026
- Unlimited traffic — up to 1 Gbit/s with no bandwidth caps
- Large brand — established German company with US data centers
- NVMe SSD storage — fast storage included across plans
Where Galaxy Cloud Solutions Wins
- Intrusion filtering — all network traffic to and from your VM is filtered, on every plan
- Watched around the clock. I get an alert the moment something goes down, and every VM is backed up nightly.
- Personal support — you talk directly to the person managing your server, not a corporate ticket system
- US-owned and operated — your data stays on US soil
- Simpler billing — no surprises, flat monthly rates
My honest take
IONOS is the most underrated provider on this list. Their performance-per-dollar at the under-$15 tier is genuinely impressive and the VPSBenchmarks ranking backs that up. If you're budget-constrained and need solid Linux VPS performance, they deserve serious consideration. Galaxy Cloud Solutions wins on the personal support angle — but I won't claim we're cheaper. We're not. What we offer is a more personal experience on US-based infrastructure, with nightly backups, round-the-clock monitoring, and intrusion filtering on all network traffic. Whether that's worth the extra few dollars per month depends entirely on what you're running.

Not the cheapest option out there — but personal support, nightly backups, round-the-clock monitoring, and intrusion filtering on all network traffic are included. Use code LAUNCH2026 for 50% off your first month.
